Beechnut Kennels is a locally owned and operated simple, spacious and well respected canine, dog, feline, cat and pet boarding, daycare camp and grooming facility located in Edgewater, Maryland. Beechnut Kennels is located just outside of Annapolis, in the quiet rural suburbs of Washington DC and Baltimore.
Beechnut Kennels has clients from Edgewater, Annapolis, Arnold, Brooklyn, Churchton, Crofton, Crownsville, Davidsonville, Deale, Dunkirk, Eastport, Friendship, Galesville, Gambrills, Hanover as well as the Maryland suburban areas of Anne Arundel County, Prince George's County, Southern Baltimore County, Queen Anne's County, the Eastern Shore, and Calvert County, as well as Washington D.C.

Mildred Capone is the owner of Beechnut Kennels. Melissa Medick, new manager, has a wonderful pet friendly staff who are completely devoted to the kennel business. Beechnut Kennels has been grooming and boarding dogs, cats and pets since 1973. Dog day care is new and quite a hit. Call us for details! Ms. Capone and Melissa are committed to remaining a small boarding facility in order to ensure the personal relationships with our clients and their pets. We are sure that you will be pleased with how clean, welcoming and generous our accommodations are at Beechnut Kennels.
Check-In/Check-Out Times 7 days a Week: 8-10am and 4-6pm, 7 Days a Week.
All pets staying past 10am will be charged for that day (just like at a hotel).
Clients requesting appointments must be able to provide ALL check-in information by phone or email in advance of check-in.
Shots Required or Recommended (titers accepted):
- Distemper
- Rabies
- Leptospirosis (recommended)
- Free of Fleas and Ticks*
- Bordatella for Canine Cough (within 6 months of boarding)
- Canine influenza (highly recommended)
Any pets with fleas will be isolated, given a medication to kill the fleas, given a flea dip bath to remove the flea's dirt, and then administered a topical preventative - ALL at the owner's expense. Thanks!

Grooming
Pet grooming appointments are scheduled for all breeds Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and some weekends. Please contact us for a quote since our vary on coat type, dog temperament, dog behavior, cut requests, and other factors.
Please be aware of the following policies:
Bathing: All pets staying 5 days or more will receive a discounted clean-up bath at the expense of the owner. Baths may be upgraded to full baths or full grooming if desired.

Owner is responsible for informing staff of:
- Pet behaviors that may contribute to aggression, escape, or any other danger to self or others
- Any health issue, including untreated diagnoses or contagious illness prior to drop off
- Heat cycle for non-sprayed females
Owner is also to accept responsibility for other boarding arrangements made by Beechnut if a female pet goes into heat while boarding.
VETERINARY NEEDS:
If your pet becomes ill while you are away, we will attempt to contact you. We do reserve the right to take your pet to its veterinarian if we feel it is necessary. In the event that your vet is unavailable, we will utilize one of our local veterinarians or emergency hospital.
